"THE JEWELER"
Lord I couldn’t see past the barrel of the gun
The day that you found me and said I was your son
You picked me up and held me, said “things will be alright”
You told me that together we could win this fight
I heard you say so softly ”this is the easiest thing you’ll do”
To have you hone and guide me that you would lead me through
With precision taps and chipping you would purge me of my sin
To hold your hand in faith and trust you till the end
Many parts of me are hidden away from prying eyes
You will let the light in you’ll open all the blinds
You’ll shine, grind and polish always leading to the end
That together you will make me into husband, father, friend
When the work is all over the day I come to you
The mighty gates will open and yes you will lead me through
To play within the heavens to shine amongst the stars
The place that is there for me a place with no more bars
So Lord please shape and mold me with your hands
So I can join the others as a diamond in your wedding band
